FITECOM was founded in 1993 by technical professionals with extensive experience in the main sectors of the textile industry. Located in Covilhã, it has a covered area of approximately 20,000 m², in addition to an outdoor area of 36,000 m². The company has its own spinning, weaving, finishing, and dyeing departments. Its fabrics are primarily 100% wool and wool blends. FITECOM is committed to customer satisfaction and to protecting the environment, as well as the safety and health of its employees, the local community, and the users of its products. As part of its environmental responsibility policy, FITECOM has a photovoltaic park that ensures daytime electricity autonomy and is in the process of implementing a new wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) that will allow the recovery of approximately 60% of liquid production effluents for reuse in its manufacturing processes. FITECOM also undergoes ICS social audits to improve working conditions throughout global supply chains. The purpose of an ICS social audit is to assess social compliance with ICS Requirements and report any observed non-conformities. Quality is one of FITECOM’s main concerns, supported by a DuPont-certified laboratory where products are inspected from raw material to final product. The company is licensed by The Woolmark Company for the production and commercialization of Woolmark and Woolmark Blend products. FITECOM is certified GRS and RWS, with products certified by OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100 and accredited by The Lycra Company. FITECOM uses the most advanced technology available on the market, housed in a modern manufacturing facility with a progressive layout that ensures linear material flow and allows for real-time quality and production control.
