Since its founding in 1966 by Mr. Carlos Alberto da Silva Rego, Louropel – Fábrica de Botões, Lda. has been consistently dedicated to the production and commercialization of buttons. Initially named after its founder, from the beginning the company invested in Mr. Rego’s expertise and knowledge, using innovative technology for that decade: the manufacture of buttons in polyester resin. The continuous technological and infrastructure expansion of Louropel, along with its strategic location in the Ave Valley, the center of the ever-evolving Portuguese textile industry, led to its current designation: Louropel – Fábrica de Botões, Lda. The construction of two modern industrial units and the modernization of the production process have positioned Louropel as a globally recognized company: * A company with high technological development and innovative manufacturing systems. * A company with high technological development and innovative manufacturing systems. * An unrivaled market leader. Furthermore, to meet the growing demand of the international market, Louropel integrated its know-how and infrastructure to develop an exclusive and patented production cycle for an environmentally friendly product called “Ecological Biodegradable Buttons,” made entirely from natural components (tagua nut, cotton, recycled paper, semolina flour, vegetables, fruits, wood, etc.).
