Description:

LUSOTUFO has been steadily increasing its production capacity and diversifying its product range through continuous investments in production, logistics, and commercial areas, following a strategy of vertical integration. During the 1980s and 1990s, the company stood out for its investment in tufted products (new looms and finishing machines), bonded products, woven products (Wire Wilton, Axminster, Double Piece, Flatweave), and yarn production (blending, extrusion, skein dyeing, and spinning). Despite its industrial and export-oriented nature, the company also developed import and commercialization of home textile coverings, strengthening its presence in the national market. The introduction of imported products in the 1990s helped offset counterfeiting in the residential market and consolidated LUSOTUFO’s presence in the country. The group’s main focus remains the production of carpets and rugs, complemented by strategic companies: * 1996: LANOR – Lavandouro de Lãs do Nordeste, Lda., specialized in wool selection and washing. * 2001: LUSOLÃ – Fabricação de Fios Têxteis, S.A., dedicated to yarn production for carpets and rugs. * 2002: LUSOTUFO ENERGIA, S.A., a cogeneration company for electricity and thermal energy production. In the early 21st century, LUSOTUFO expanded commercially with new showrooms (Headquarters, Algarve, and Lisbon), the acquisition of commercial companies in the UK, and an internationalization strategy. Industrially, it developed new products and increased capacity, notably acquiring TEXTILANA, S.A. (currently LUSOLÃ, S.A.), dedicated to yarn production. Currently, LUSOTUFO occupies an area of approximately 90,000 m² and employs around 250 workers. Its production structure covers all stages, from raw material washing to weaving and finishing, ensuring strict quality control and process efficiency. The company is ISO 9001 certified and, since 1995, has had a laboratory equipped with advanced technology for chemical and physical testing, ensuring product quality. Characterized by family management, LUSOTUFO stands out for its investment in human capital, valuing employees who demonstrate professionalism and dedication to the company.
