Objective

OEKO-TEX® ECO PASSPORT is an independent certification system for chemicals, dyes, and auxiliaries used in the textile and leather industry.

Through a multi-step process, each individual ingredient of the chemical product is verified to ensure it meets legal requirements and is not harmful to human health. Brands and manufacturers value OEKO-TEX® ECO PASSPORT as credible proof of sustainable textile and leather production.

Once a year, OEKO-TEX® updates the list of prohibited substances and limit values, incorporating new scientific findings or legal requirements.

OEKO-TEX® MADE IN GREEN is a traceable product label for all types of textiles (e.g., clothing, home textiles) and leather products (e.g., garments, finished and semi-finished leathers), including non-textile / non-leather components (e.g., accessories).

The MADE IN GREEN label verifies that an item has been tested for harmful substances through certification according to OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 or OEKO-TEX® LEATHER STANDARD. It also guarantees that the textile or leather product was manufactured using sustainable processes under environmentally and socially responsible working conditions, through certification according to OEKO-TEX® STeP.

All items labeled with OEKO-TEX® MADE IN GREEN can be transparently traced through a unique product ID or QR code, indicating the countries and facilities where the item was produced. With the MADE IN GREEN label, consumers can directly check on the product the responsible practices of textile and leather companies and their suppliers.
