There is a growing consumer awareness to purchase products containing recycled materials, which has led the textile industry, among others, to increasingly focus on this recycling market.
In turn, companies are exploring circular models to collect and reuse materials that can be transformed into new fabrics and garments with the help of various recycling technologies.
The Recycled Claim Standard (RCS) is a voluntary international standard that sets requirements for third-party certification of recycled content and its supply chain. Its goal is to increase the use of recycled materials.
The RCS framework does not address the use of chemicals or other social or environmental aspects of production beyond the integrity of the recycled material. RCS is based on the chain of custody requirements of the Content Claim Standard (CCS).

The RCS label applies to textile sector companies involved in spinning, garment manufacturing, printing, production, weaving, dyeing, brand distribution and marketing, as well as recyclers and processors of recycled materials.
