What is the minimum order for underwear in Portugal?

It’s quoted per brief. Minimums depend on the factory, the fabric and how you split colours and sizes, so tell us your quantities per style and we tell you honestly whether a factory in our group can take them.

What does underwear cost to make in Portugal?

The cost calculator puts knit underwear at €5–10 per piece ex-factory (300–500 units, mid fabric, standard complexity). Bras, lace, sleepwear and loungewear are quoted on your tech pack.

Which fabrics work best for underwear?

Cotton jersey with a little elastane for everyday pieces, modal or micromodal for a softer, smoother hand, and nylon-elastane lace and mesh for lingerie. Our underwear fabric guide compares them.

Which certification should I ask for?

OEKO-TEX Standard 100 is the common one for skin-contact products: it tests the finished article for harmful substances. Check that the certificate’s product class covers skin contact (class II, or class I for babies) and that it names the factory or mill that supplies you.

Bralettes and soft, unwired bras, yes. Wired and moulded-cup bras need specialist equipment and fit work, so say it in your brief and we only route it to a factory that does that work, or tell you if we can’t.

How should underwear be packed?

Most retailers want each piece bagged, often with a hygiene liner in briefs and bodies, and packed per size. Tell us your retailer’s rules in the brief so the factory packs to them.

Fabrics, elastics and trims

In underwear the fabric sits on skin all day and the elastic does the fitting, so both belong in the brief, not left to the factory.

Cotton jersey, usually with a little elastane, for breathable everyday briefs and boxers.
Modal and micromodal for a smooth, cool, drapey hand that stays soft after washing. Our modal guide explains the difference.
Lace and mesh, mostly nylon with elastane, for lingerie and sheer panels.
Elastics and trims: plush-back or picot elastic, jacquard waistbands with your logo, fold-over binding, rings, sliders, hooks and eyes.

Spec the fit
Fabric, gusset, elastic per edge and size grading decide comfort. No tech pack yet? We make one for €79 in 3–5 working days, with 2–3 revision rounds.
Matched to a stretch factory
We route your brief to a factory in our group that sews underwear. Our fee is quoted in writing after we read your brief, before any work starts.
Fit sample, worn and washed
Wear it for a day and wash it: check the elastic recovers, seams don’t rub, the fabric stays opaque and every size fits. Plan on more than one fit round for bras.
Production and hygiene packing
Sewing, hygiene liners and packing to your spec. The factory invoices you directly, with no commission on your order.
